Thank You UConn Supporters and Thank You Detroit
For A Great 2004 Motor City Bowl!!!!

The 2004 Motor
City Bowl champion UConn Football team was
honored at halftime of the UConn vs. Sacred
Heart men's basketball game on Tuesday,
December 28, at the Hartford Civic Center --
the day after UConn defeated Toledo in the
Motor City Bowl. Pictured: (Left to right)

The University of Connecticut sold
over 6,000 tickets for the 2004 Motor City
Bowl in Detroit. THANK YOU!!! Your support
in Detroit was a big part of UConn defeating
Toledo by a 39-10 score and posting a
victory in its first bowl game ever.
UConn donated
tickets that were purchased by Husky fans
who could not attend the game to military
personnel and family members of the Michigan
Army National Guard and the Michigan Air
National Guard from Selfridge Air Force Base
in Mount Clemens, Mich. Tickets purchased by
UConn fans were also given to the American
Red Cross, Goodwill Industries, Focus
Hope-Minority Job Readiness and Special
Olympics.
UConn is the first program in history to
transform from an NCAA Division I-AA program
into a member of a Bowl Championship Series
Conference.
