Blog Central: Bowl Life with Lunn

Entry 3: December 26, 2007

So it's Wednesday in Charlotte.

It was a little colder today, meaning it was in the mid 40's.  To keep things in perspective though, it was about 32 degrees in Storrs.  The cold weather certainly didn't not put a damper on practice.  People were flying around all day, but the highlight of the day had to be learning about the secret competition with Coach Edsall tomorrow as we get to ride in the cars at LOWE'S MOTOR SPEEDWAY (think...Ricky Bobby).

That's right, our favorite Head Coach will be engaging the enemy in a test of wills.  The most profound of competitions, the true measure of a man.  That's right, you guessed it, they will be seeing who can change a tire faster at Lowe's Motor Speedway.  I really should have seen this coming.  I really need to brush up on my Magnum P.I.  It's just that every time I watch it get so distracted by the majesty and wonder of Tom Selick's Mustache.  Anyway, I digress.  I should have known that Coach Edsall was planning on this tire changing-pit crew- extravaganza.  The Talladega Nights and Days of Thunder DVDs in his coaching bag would have been my first hint. And then I saw the list of movies to his hotel room: Cannonball Run (another killer 'stache by Reynolds) and of course, "Carolina Thunder".

Speaking of amazing mustaches and sporting events, did I mention that tonight we went to the Charlotte Bobcats Game?  That's right, Adam Morrison, with that baby caterpillar on is upper lip was there in all his glory.  He has been sidelined this year with an ACL injury, but it was great to see former UConn great Emeka Okafor play.  He is truly a superstar here in Charlotte, and I find it my duty to let everyone back in Connecticut know that he is still doing big things.

Short blog today, have to be up at 5:15am tomorrow, but some things I am really excited about at the moment, in list form:
1) Playing Wake Forest in the bowl game
2) The Return of American Gladiators to prime time television
3) My Roommate Scott Lutrus has unexpectedly run out of exfoliater and apricot rub.
4) Knowing that Chip Malofante reads my blog as religiously as I read his (http://runwayramblings.blogspot.com/)
5) My friends Caitlin Weisel, Christina Andrews, Sydney Guttmann have been reading the blog.

Talk to you tomorrow....after we get our NASCAR on.
Best,
Rob
